    Three Wheeled Buggies

Whether you’re looking for a buggy run around in or a stroller that can be used for strolls around the neighborhood, three-wheeled buggies provide great mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver even in tight spaces.

For an easy ride, opt for a pram with air-filled tyres. Look for models with 360deg front swivel wheels. However, they are susceptible to punctures, so make sure you are prepared with an repair kit.

    Frame made of sturdy material

New figures show that three-wheeled buggies, that symbol of the decade that were more expensive than common sense, are in rapid decline. They are being replaced by four-wheelers that can handle a wider variety of terrain, yet still look swanky and being easy to push.

The rule is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it will be for your buggy to cope with bumpy and rough pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear, make it easier to maneuver and more stable while walking downhill or over difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy on an infant and a toddler and found it to be extremely durable. It was able to handle cobbles, grass and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath wrote “it is solid to push and very solid when traversing difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable so need occasionally pumping) have suspension built-in which was extremely comfortable for my kids.

The size and shape of the seat is a further factor to consider. You will want it to be large enough to accommodate your child’s comfort. You will also want it to be able to recline to allow them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies offer the option of lying flat that allows your child to lie flat and face you, while other buggies only allow a face-to-parent one.

The Roma Atlas is a great option for off-road or wet walks. This buggy is ideal for a single child as early as birth and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for toddlers and infants from birth until age 4. It includes a bumper with a rain cover, an upgraded 5-point harness, and a huge cushioned seat. The storage options are excellent as well, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets inside the hood and an easy-to-access pouch on the back of the seat unit.

    Wheels with a larger diameter

Larger wheels will give your buggy greater stability when driving on rough terrain. This is perfect for buggies designed for off-road use. Additionally, they allow you to maneuver the buggy through tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies feature the front wheels that swivel to aid you in maneuvering around corners with ease, whereas others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability with which they can be pushed. This is also helpful if you bump into the roots of a tree or stray kerb as the front wheel will lift up to keep you from hitting it.

A lot of 3 wheel pushchairs have air filled tyres which means they can handle different terrains and are far more flexible than 4-wheeler. They also tend to be lighter. They are prone to punctures, so you’ll require a repair kit and spare inner tubes on hand.

Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo Lux are some of our favourite 3-wheelers. These buggies, according to MFM’s Kath, have larger wheels that she claims “perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles” and are able to climb or descend kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that, in her words “smoothes out bumps extremely effectively”.

Buggies with larger wheels can be quite wide and may struggle to fit in tight spaces. This can be an issue if you’re using it as a jogger or you need to maneuver through narrow doorways when out and about. Fortunately, many models come with small folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels for more compact storage.

    Easy to Manoeuvre

One of the main benefits to a three wheel buggy is that it can be much easier to maneuver especially with a child in tow. The way in which they are built means that the front wheels turn at a quick pace and are extremely maneuverable and are ideal for difficult terrains such as parks, cobbles and bumpy pavements as well as dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3-wheeler with her newborn and toddler and said: “The Terrain was a pleasure to maneuver over tough terrain with the swivel rear wheel being especially helpful. I was also impressed by how well it dealt with kerbs, especially when using the brake operated by hand. I found it to be extremely stable when driving downhill or over uneven ground.”

The only drawback to this incredible maneuverability is that the larger wheels of a 3 wheel buggy might make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you should be aware of when you live in a city. If this is a problem then a 4-wheeled buggy could be the better choice for you.

It provides the lowest center of gravity at the right height for your baby and also delivering an excellent weight distribution to facilitate kerb pop (it requires less effort to push the buggy over and up a curb than you might think). MFM reviewer Kath discovered that it was able to cope well with grass and cobbles and is a great option for jogging due to its lockable swivel front wheel that can be locked and air filled tyres.

This bumper bar will attract attention wherever it’s utilized. It has a sophisticated and fashionable appearance. It’s available in a variety of colours and finishes to match your style. Kath who was our MFM reviewer, also loved the space of the buggy. There’s an easily accessible, large basket that is surprising spacious for a vehicle of this size. Additionally, there’s an excellent pouch on the back seat unit, and two smaller mesh pockets beneath the hood, where you can keep your phone and keys.
