Radionuclide concentrations in wild rodents (Apodemus argenteus, and Apodemus speciosus) within these areas were monitored from 2012 to 2016. However, whole-organism to soil transfer parameters (i.e., concentration ratio, CRwo-soil) for wild rodents at Fukushima were not determined and hence were lacking from the international transfer databases. We augmented the 2012-2016 data by collecting soil activity concentrations (Bq kg-1, dry mass) from five rodent sampling sites in Fukushima Prefecture, and developed corresponding CRwo-soil values for radiocesium (134Cs and 137Cs) based on rodent radioactivity concentrations (Bq kg-1, fresh mass). The CRwo-soil were added to the Wildlife Transfer Database (WTD; http//www.wildlifetransferdatabase.org/), supporting the development of the International Commission on Radiological Protection’s (ICRP) environmental protection framework, and increasing the WTD from 84 to 477 entries for cesium and Muridae (‘Reference Rat’). Significant variation occurred in CRwo-soil values between study sites within Fukushima Prefecture. The geometric mean CRwo-soil, in this paper, was higher than that reported for Muridae species for Chernobyl. Radiocaesium absorbed dose rates were also estimated for wild rodents inhabiting the five Fukushima study sites and ranged from 1.3 to 33 μGy h-1. Absorbed dose rates decreased by a factor of two from 2012 to 2016. Dose rates in highly contaminated areas were within the ICRP derived consideration reference level for Reference Rat (0.1-1 mGy d-1), suggesting the possible occurrence of deleterious effects and need for radiological effect studies in the Fukushima area.
Proprioception is the awareness of body parts and includes joint position sense, kinesthesia, and sense of force. Cervical spine is one of the major affected areas in axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), and is an essential region for proprioceptive receptors.
To investigate the cervical joint proprioceptive accuracy by using cervical joint positioning error (JPE) method in patients with axSpA and healthy controls.
Cross-sectional study.
JPE was calculated for cervical motions in the directions of flexion, extension, rotations, and lateral flexions. Time since diagnosis, symptom duration, spinal mobility, functional status, quality of life, disease activity, and pain were evaluated in axSpA patients. Cervical JPE of axSpA patients was also compared according to radiographic status, biologic use, and existence of cervical syndesmophytes.
Eighty-two axSpA patients (52 males) and 71 healthy subjects (53 males) were evaluated. Cervical JPE was higher in patients with axSpA compared to healthy subjects (p<0.001), except left lateral flexion (p=0.10). Cervical proprioceptive accuracy for extension and left rotation was better in biologics+subgroup compared to biologic- subgroup (p<0.05). No other differences were detected related to radiographic status nor existence of cervical syndesmophytes (p>0.05).
Cervical proprioception accuracy is impaired in patients with axSpA. It seems that controlling disease activity by using appropriate medication may have a positive effect on cervical proprioception accuracy.

However, limited polarization transfer efficiency using cross-polarization (CP) between 1H and rare spins such as 13C still restricts the sensitivity and multi-dimensional applications of SSNMR using UFMAS. We propose a novel approach, which we call decoherence-optimized tilted-angle CP (DOTA CP), to improve CP efficiency with prolonged lifetime of 1H coherence in the spin-locked condition and efficient band-selective polarization transfer by incorporating off-resonance irradiation to 1H spins. 13C CP-MAS at ωR/2π of 70-90 kHz suggested that DOTA CP notably outperformed traditional adiabatic CP, a de-facto-standard CP scheme over the past decade, in sensitivity for the aliphatic-region spectra of 13C-labeled GB1 protein and N-formyl-Met-Leu-Phe samples by up to 1.4- and 1.2-fold, respectively. 1H-detected 2D 1H/13C SSNMR for the GB1 sample indicated the effectiveness of this approach in various multidimensional applications.Developing low-cost and efficient methods to enhance the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) intensity of luminophores is highly desirable and challenging. Herein, we develop a synergistic promotion strategy based on three types of co-reaction accelerators to achieve an efficient SnO2 quantum dots (SnO2 QDs)-based ternary ECL system. Specifically, the MnO2 nanoflowers (MnO2 NFs), Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs) and hemin/G-quadruplex were rationally selected as co-reaction accelerators. Owing to the synergistic effect, the deft integration of three types of co-reaction accelerators enabled better structural stability, more exposed catalytic active sites, and faster charge transfer, thus more effectively facilitating the reduction of co-reactant (S2O82-) compared with that of the single co-reaction accelerator. To demonstrate the practical utility of this principle, an “on-off-super on” ECL biosensor was constructed in combination with a 3D DNA walker, which showed a superior linear range (10 aM-100 pM) and a low detection limit (2.9 aM) for the highly-sensitive miRNA-21 detection. In general, this work firstly reported that three types of co-reaction accelerators were deftly integrated to remarkably amplify the ECL emission of SnO2 QDs, and provided brand-new perspectives for research on the ingenious design of the structure and component of highly efficient co-reaction accelerators.Neospora infections due to Neospora caninum and N. hughesi are prevalent among equids of the world. The disease may affect reproductive and neurological consequences. click here The present systematic review and meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the global Neospora seroprevalence among horses and donkeys. A number of 57 out of 1575 total retrieved studies were included by searching the PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science and ProQuest. A total of 25,783 horses and 4377 donkeys were examined serologically, yielding a weighted seroprevalence of 13.46 % (95 % CI 10.26 %-17.42 %) globally. Subgroup analysis revealed that there were statistically significant differences in the overall prevalence of Neospora spp. in the examined animals according to year, continent, WHO region, country, host, and diagnostic method. Age and sex in horses as well as sex in donkeys were significantly associated with the Neospora seroprevalence (P less then 0.001). Our findings showed a relatively high exposure to Neospora spp. in horses and donkeys worldwide. Considering the possible economic impact, as well as the importance in animal health, more studies are needed to clarify the species causing equine neosporosis, correlate serological findings with clinical outcomes and assess the risk factors, in order to define adequate prevention and control strategies.
We examined, (a) whether in early childhood exposure to risky family environment in different domains (socioeconomic, mental, parenting practices, health behavior, and child-related risks) and accumulatively across various domains (cumulative risk) is associated with child’s problem behavior at age 9, and (b) whether the association is more pronounced in children carrying cumulative dopaminergic sensitizing genotype or living in low-income families.
Participants were 2,860 9-year old children (48% females; 48% Black) and their mothers from the ‘Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study’, a probability birth cohort from large U.S. cities. Mothers responded to questions on child’s problem behavior (CBCL). Children responded to questions about their vandalism and substance use.
Cumulative family risk was associated with higher internalizing and externalizing behavior and higher vandalism and substance use. All domain-specific risk clusters were associated with higher internalizing behavior and, with the exception of child-related risk, with higher externalizing behavior. Mental health risks, risky parenting practices, and risky health behavior were associated with higher vandalism. Risky parenting practices were associated with higher substance use. The associations were robust to adjustment for cumulative dopaminergic sensitizing genotype. No G x E interactions with dopaminergic genotype and family SES were observed.
Sample size was relatively small for genetic analysis and polygenic risk scores were not available.
Exposure to cumulative psychosocial family risks from early childhood is associated with early indicators of problem behavior in adolescence.

There are scarce and discrepant data about the prevalence and correlates of co-occurring eating disorders (EDs) among people with a primary diagnosis of bipolar disorder (BD), and vice-versa, compelling a systematic review and meta-analysis on the matter.
MEDLINE/PsycINFO databases were systematically searched for original studies documenting BD⇌ED comorbidity across the lifespan, from inception up until April 20
, 2020. Random-effects meta-analysis and meta-regression analyses were conducted, accounting for multiple moderators.
Thirty-six studies involved 15,084 primary BD patients. Eleven studies encompassed 15,146 people with primary EDs. Binge eating disorder (BED) occurred in 12.5% (95%C.I.=9.4-16.6%, I
=93.48%) of BDs, while 9.1% (95%C.I.=3.3-22.6%) of BEDs endorsed BD. Bulimia Nervosa (BN) occurred in 7.4% (95%C.I.=6-10%) of people with BD, whereas 6.7% (95%C.I.=12-29.2%) of subjects with BN had a diagnosis of BD. Anorexia Nervosa (AN) occurred in 3.8% (95%C.I.=2-6%) of people with BDs; 2% (95%ifferent ages, promoting a continuum approach.
Mental health problems are becoming increasingly prevalent among students and adequate support should be provided to prevent and treat mental health disorders in those at risk.
This systematic review and meta-analysis examined the efficacy of psychological interventions for students, with consideration of how adaptions to intervention content and delivery could improve outcomes. We searched for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) of interventions in students with or at risk of mental health problems and extracted data for study characteristics, symptom severity, wellbeing, educational outcomes, and attrition. Eighty-four studies were included.
Promising effects were found for indicated and selective interventions to treat anxiety disorders, depression and eating disorders. PTSD and self-harm data was limited, and did not demonstrate significant effects. Relatively few trials adapted intervention delivery to student-specific concerns, and overall adapted interventions showed no benefit over non-adapted interventions.
