omes to difficult to treat tinea infections, irrational usage of topical steroids, treatment from non-dermatologists and a past history of tinea appear to be more critical causative factors. Treatment of dermatophytosis by dermatologists/ trained physicians and increasing general awareness of the public regarding the current situation about tinea in the country would help to alleviate the current crisis.
Reliable and detailed nationwide data on the prevalence and distribution of mental disorders among healthcare workers in China during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak are scarce.
We did a cross-sectional online survey from March 2 to 2 April 2020 and a total of 19,379 healthcare workers from 25 provinces participated. Depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) were assessed by the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) and PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5), respectively.
The age-standardized prevalence of depression, anxiety and PTSD was 15.5%, 12.7% and 5.2%, respectively. Frontline workers had higher prevalence estimates than non-frontline workers (depression 18.2% vs. 13.9%; anxiety 14.7% vs. 11.6%; PTSD 6.1% vs. 4.6%). Subgroups who were nurses, were married or had dependent children reported higher prevalence of depression, anxiety and PTSD. Despite of the large variations, the prevalence of mental disorders was lowest in Eppened.
To characterize the oral and tracheal microbiota of patients admitted to a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
This is an exploratory study conducted on patients aged 5months to 13years admitted to the PICU of a referral hospital. Two microbiological samples were collected with a swab in the posterior region of the tongue from patients receiving spontaneous and mechanical ventilation within the first 24 and 48h after admission to the PICU. Among patients receiving mechanical ventilation, tracheal secretion was also collected in a second sampling. The caries experience was evaluated using the DMFT/dmf index, and the quality of oral hygiene was assessed based on the visual plaque index (VPI). A questionnaire was applied to obtain data on hospital routine and sample characteristics. The DMFT/dmf index was 1.66 (SD=2.18) and the mean VPI was 43.03 (SD=36.93). The most prevalent microorganisms were Klebsiella pneumoniae (15%). Oral colonization by opportunistic pathogens was significantly higher in patients receiving mechanical ventilation compared to those on spontaneous ventilation (p<.05). There was no relationship of VPI or DMFT/dmf with oral microbiological changes.
The results indicate that PICU patients are susceptible to colonization by respiratory and opportunistic pathogens since the first hours of hospitalization.

There is a smaller body of literature which focuses on preschoolers and how their right-handed movements relate to their speech and vocabulary development. Some research has established a connection between right-hand preference for grasping and speech production ability in preschool children, but the link to gestures is relatively unexplored in this age group. We investigated if lateralized gestures (pointing) are related to measures of language development (vocabulary) in a preschool-age sample. Specifically, typically developing children (aged 3-6) completed the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT) to assess receptive language. We recorded their hand preference for pointing during the PPVT and the incidence of mistakes (pointing to the wrong picture). Despite the length of the test, children were more likely to select a correct response with their right hand. This result suggests a relationship between lateralized communicative gestures (pointing) and receptive language. This study provides evidence for an intimate relationship between right-handed manual movement and language development. Bcl-6 inhibitor Implications of this finding include developing simple fine-motor tasks to detect and/or ameliorate delayed language development.Enterococcus species are present in the microbiota of humans and animals and have also been described in the environment. Among the species, Enterococcus faecium is one of the main pathogens associated with nosocomial infections worldwide. Enterococcus faecium isolates resistant to different classes of antimicrobials have been increasingly reported, including multidrug-resistant (MDR) isolates in environmental sources, which is worrying. Therefore, this study aimed to characterize E. faecium isolates obtained from soil and water samples regarding antimicrobial resistance and virulence determinants. A total 40 E. faecium isolates were recovered from 171 environmental samples. All isolates were classified as MDR, highlighting the resistance to the fluoroquinolones class, linezolid and vancomycin. Furthermore, high-level aminoglycoside resistance and high-level ciprofloxacin resistance were detected in some isolates. Several clinically relevant antimicrobial resistance genes were found, including vanC1, ermB, ermC, mefAE, tetM, tetL, ant(6′)-Ia, ant(4′)-Ia, aph(3′)-IIIa and aac(6′)-Ie-aph(2″)-Ia. Three virulence genes were detected among the MDR E. faecium isolates, such as esp, gelE and ace. The results of this study contribute to a better understanding of MDR E. faecium isolates carrying antimicrobial resistance and virulence genes in environmental sources and report for the first time in the world the presence of vanC1-producing E. faecium isolated from soil.
Internal dosimetry has become a very important tool to evaluate the risks and benefits of new endoradiotherapeutic agents. Nowadays, some of the most successful targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) agents are
Lu-DOTA conjugates based on low molecular weight (LMW) Glu-ureido PSMA inhibitors. It has, however, been demonstrated that the DOTA chelating moiety reduces the internalization of the LMW-PSMA agent and its radiation dose to the tumor. Previously, we reported that
Lu-scFvD2B, an antibody-based construct, demonstrated statistically significant higher cell uptake and internalization in LNCaP prostate cancer (PCa) cells (PSMA-positive) when compared to the LMW-PSMA agents,
Lu-PSMA-617 and
Lu-iPSMA, two of the endoradiotherapeutic agents which currently are the most used in PCa therapy. The aim of this study is to estimate the preclinical
Lu-scFvD2B organ and tumor-absorbed doses, and to compare the values with those of
Lu-PSMA-617 and
Lu-iPSMA.
Lu-scFvD2B,
Lu-PSMA-617, and
Lu-iPSMA were prepared and their radiochemical purity determined.
