The Marston House has a rich history. It was originally commissioned by eminent San Diego residents George Marston and his wife Anna to serve as their private residence. Constructed in the Arts and Crafts style by renowned local architects Irving Gill and William Hebbard, no spending was spared to assemble a property that revealed the Marston family’s appreciation for beauty as well as commitment to social progress.

Over the decades, The Marston House moved through several owners. Thankfully previous caretakers had the providence to preserve the property to save its historic architectural integrity. In 1987, the Save Our Heritage Organization (SOHO) purchased and rehabilitated the mansion, turning it into a cultural center and museum.
